This workshop is intended for educators and parents as an introduction to the various triggers and effects of anxiety on their children. You will be asked to consider what circumstances can cause your children to be anxious and look at how stories can be used to open up conversations in a non-threatening way. You'll also be shown activities and techniques to use to help children understand when they are starting to get anxious and how they can lessen these feelings.
During the workshop, there will be the opportunity to consider various discussion points and work through different activities relating to their experiences so far. When you sign up to our website, you will be able to download all the resources linked to this workshop for free.
Spaces are limited, so book now via EventBrite.
We have an excellent range of workshops designed to show educators how stories, positive language patterns, and coaching techniques can be used to help children develop the skills needed to promote good mental health.
Our 'Regulating Big Emotions' series has proved very popular and is available as a series of sessions or in any preferred combination. We explore: anger, anxiety, grief, fear of failure, and friendships.
Our 'Find Your Inner Superhero' workshops are available as an introductory session (as presented at the TES SEN Show 2021) or as two more in-depth sessions on 'Marvellous Me!' and 'Dream Team.'
If you would like to discuss bespoke workshops or sessions for educational settings, please do get in touch below. We would love to work with you and staff!
We were thrilled to be invited to host a seminar at the TES SEN Show 2021!
We showed delegates how they could help children find their inner superheroes, explore what makes them special and unique, look at ways to recognise, own and regulate their emotions, and at how children could use their individual superpowers as part of a team.
Delegates came away with practical ideas and techniques to disseminate to staff and implement in their settings, as well as discovering new texts to enrich and enliven their curriculums with the aim of opening discussions with pupils.
"I really liked the insights into the vocabulary of emotion and the power of words." A. Cusack
"I loved Vafa and Jo's energy, enthusiasm, and subject knowledge!" J. Lawrence

Vafa is able to offer individual coaching for parents who feel that their child would benefit from individual support tailored to their needs. She will work with the child and their family to make positive changes for the future.
Jo would love to work closely with schools to develop a broad and balanced reading curriculum comprised of high-quality texts. This could be through the creation of reading spines or library collection development. She is also able to work with English leads or whole teams to explore ways to embed a positive reading culture throughout a school and improve professional practice.
